The Entry level qualification list includes Entry Level Certificates (sub levels 1–3), ESOL skills for life, functional, skills Entry Level (England) (English, mathematics & ICT) and Essential Skills Qualifications (NI).

In Scotland, Education levels are different with Entry level being equivalent to levels 1 to 3. This includes National 1, 2 and 3., Access 1, 2, and 3., NPA and National Certificate / Award

In the Republic of Ireland Entry level qualifications are equivalent to levels 1 and 2 which includes the Level 1 and 2 Certificates.

In mainland Europe, Entry Level qualification (sub level 3) is equivalent to European Qualifications Framework Level 1.
