Free Antiquities Trafficking and Art Crime Course

The University of Glasgow has launched a free four week course which looks at the ongoing problems associated with Antiquities Trafficking and Art Crime.
The online course looks into the well organised criminal networks whose actions not only affect the owner but also the local community and society too.
It details how looted artefacts can cross numerous international borders before often ending up in the hands of a respected museum or collector who are totally unaware that they are the proceeds of a crime.
It looks at why items are looted and then destroyed or stolen to order for black market collectors.
The course will also look at what is being done to protect our heritage from theft and destruction in the future.
